Welcome to our latest team update. This month, we’d like to share our new venture with the charity Young Enterprise, which offers financial and enterprise learning opportunities to young people through its volunteer approach.

Giving the entrepreneurs of the future a helping hand with our volunteer support

Volunteers at the charity support students in a number of ways, such as mentoring, running workshops, and guiding them as they run real-life business projects.

This helps to really develop the young people’s entrepreneurial skills, as well as increase their confidence in their abilities.

We’re inviting our team members to get involved with Young Enterprise as a way of sharing our financial services experience whilst giving back in the form of financial education.

This could be in the form of mentoring or coaching, or in any way our team members feel they can add value and use their expertise and experience to support the young people.

Lian Clifton, Client Support, recently took part in a Dragons’ Den-style workshop, where teams of students pitched their ideas to a panel of volunteers who gave feedback and advice. Having previously taught in schools overseas and being involved in charity work at another firm, this was of real interest to Lian, who is driving the Young Enterprise initiative within the business.

“This provided great insight to the value Young Enterprise brings to young people and rewarding use of time. I’m looking forward to future opportunities and excited for other members of the team to get involved,” said Lian of the experience.

We’ll be offering our support online and in person, helping the students discover their potential, and boosting their employability skills and future opportunities.

It’s a great project that we’re delighted to be involved with, as we help tomorrow’s entrepreneurs take their first steps into the business world.
