Monthly update: Free life cover for parents with children under four
21/8/2026In this month’s update, we want to let you know about free life cover available from a well-established UK insurance provider, designed to help you take care of your family.
Life cover can be an essential part of your financial plan. But when you have little ones, life can feel busy and chaotic, and it is easy for this to fall down to the bottom of the priority list.
The cover is specifically available to you if you have a child or children under the age of four. It’s free, and you do not need to already be a customer of the provider or give out any bank details.
Each parent can get separate cover of £15,000 for each child under the age of four, and you can apply at any time up until the day before each child’s fourth birthday.
This means that if you have two children under the age of four, you could each get life insurance worth £30,000.
The cover lasts for 12 months from when you take out the policy and will pay out if you die during this time.
You will be eligible for the cover if:
- You are aged between 18 and 66
- You are a permanent UK resident
- You have a child under the age of four, and you are named as a parent on their birth certificate, full adoption certificate, special guardianship order, or financial residence order.
